"You will be an official representative of the Church . . . Your purpose will be to invite others to come unto Christ . . . Greater blessings and more happiness than you have yet experienced await you as you humbly and prayerfully serve the Lord in this labor of love among His children." . . . Thomas S. Monson

ChRiStMaS EmAiL!

MeRrY ChRiStMaS everyone!! I hope you have all had a good Christmas! Mine here has been... Interesting! Haha really different for sure! But good! We have had a ton of devotionals and such going on. It has really been spiritual! Christmas Eve we all gathered in the gym place where we have all of our devotionals and we watched the nativity story. Which was nice. We sang Jingle Bells and "The 12 things for Christmas that a missionary needs". Haha kind of dumb. But cool! after that we watched A Christmas Carol. The one this George Scott I think the guys name was... It was funny! Everyone is just deprived of wanting to hear something other than the same mundane things we hear everyday... So every time someone would kiss in the movie everyone would freak out and make a big deal out of it haha. It was awesome. And stuff that was "Funny" really wasn't "Funny" at all haha. It was still fun to be around everyone and in the CHRISTmas spirit. Haha you like how I did that? Clever eh? Yeah.... Well today, Christmas, has been pretty good so far! Just different... but good! Again.  David A Bednar spoke to us this morning and gave us a really great lesson! He really talked about how we as missionaries should follow the spirit in our discussions. He said that Investigators don't get converted by what you say, they get converted by what they feel. AKA the Holy Ghost. I would really like to go into full detail about what he said but I don't have to much time... Just know that it was good and I have never felt the spirit so strong! I kind of explained it a lot better in Dads letter so you could just copy and past it from there or whatever you wanna do... But yeah everything here is going really really good and I can't wait to get out into the field! I do have a lot more to learn about the gospel and a TON more to learn about French. But it is coming along more and more everyday! I know that I will be blessed with the gift of tongues when I need to be. I missed all of  you guys over Christmas! I missed going to Grandmas on Christmas eve and seeing everyone... So know that I am thinking of all of you!! All the presents were PRIME!!! I loved all of them! Even the bottle of water...? Haha what the heck? I told all my companions that I came from a lot of money and that I haven't been able to drink any of this "poor people water" And demanded that you sent me a bottle of VOSS! Or whatever that was... Haha is was awesome. They were like what is wrong with you...? Anyways, thank you so much! I so have to say that Kylee won with the gift of all the pictures... You picked the perfect pictures! I love you. XOXO. I do have a request that if you could send me a bigger blanket to sleep with at night that would be AMAZING. The ones they give us here are like tissues just a little bigger, and probably thinner. If you could that would be GREAT! Probably the lion one. Rawrrrrrrr. Thank you. I am already starting to become one of those missionaries I swore I wouldn't become. A WEIRD one. I can't be myself so I have to be weird. It doesn't make sense. I will explain when I get home. Or you guys will just see. And I am sure that it is only going to get worse. I guess we'll see. Well I will talk to you guys next week! I hope everyone has an amazing Christmas and remembered the true meaning of it. I love and miss you guys and can't wait to hear back. It still brightens my day every time I get one of those Dear Elder letters. You guys rock!!!!!!! I will write you through mail probably later on in the week. Hit you guys with both of those. And you will get another email on Tuesday. so expect one then as well. The Dear Elder letters are really nice because I get them that day. but the hand written ones are also nice to because it is more personal. I dunno. Just thinking out loud/typing out loud? So yeah thank you everyone for being such an amazing support and you are all in my prayers. God be with you till we email again!! - Elder Landon Dean Layton.
